Elevate Campaign Details
The ORS Elevate Endowment campaign is a Board Established Endowment. All investment return generated by the investment of the fund’s asset is unrestricted as to purpose or use and will be applied without limitation to any of ORS's expenses at the Board’s sole discretion and under its direction.
It is understood that making a gift to an endowment — including to a Board-established endowment — implies a long-term commitment to hold the principal amount of these funds in perpetuity. Nevertheless, as a Board established Endowment, the donor should understand that ORS retains the right to also utilize the endowment principal to underwrite future organizational expenses, if necessary, and if it chooses to do so, with a majority vote.
Furthermore, please note that the value of the endowment’s assets will increase and decrease with the changes in the value of the underlying securities and other investments. ORS does not guarantee the performance of the endowment’s investments, nor does it ensure that the fund’s market value will not decline.
Gift Acceptance Policy
Gifts for the board-established endowment may be received at any time.
The maximum pledge period for donors will be 3 years. Exceptions may be made by the Gift Acceptance Committee.
That means a donor making a pledge on December 31, 2025, may have until December 31, 2028, to pay their pledge.
Gifts of cash, appreciated securities, and Donor Advised Funds received from Individual Retirement Accounts will be counted, as will realized bequests, as part of the $2 million goal.
Donors are encouraged to include Oregon Repertory Singers as a beneficiary of their estate plans. However, revocable gifts and future gift arrangements are very much needed and appreciated and will be considered above and beyond the $2 million campaign goal. Therefore, with the addition of these future gift expectancies, the campaign total is likely to be more than $2 million.
A limited number of naming opportunities are available for a maximum of 20-year term, including:
Endowed Fund - $500,000 minimum
Artistic Director Chair - $250,000 minimum
Youth Choir Artistic Director Chair - $250,000 minimum
Accompanist - $100,000 minimum
Assistant Conductor - $100,000 minimum
More than one prospective donor may be offered the same naming opportunity for consideration, with the naming confirmed on a first-come, first-served basis.
In the rare event that recognition offered to a donor becomes damaging to ORS, its mission and values, and/or its constituents, ORS retains the right to cease the recognition with approval by the ORS Board of Directors. The discontinuance of recognition is a serious consideration, but it may become necessary in extenuating circumstances that challenge the image or reputation of ORS (e.g., when the donor does not follow through on a commitment and/or maintain the ethical standards of ORS).
