Auditions for Oregon Repertory Singers

The Oregon Repertory Singers is always looking for talented Singers. If you are interested in auditiong, please contact ORS artistic director, Ethan Sperry at EthanSperry@gmail.com.

Prospective singers will be tested on vocal ability, ear training skills, and music reading ability. Strong sight-reading ability is desired but not required.

Prospective singers are asked to prepare a short solo (2 minutes or less) which can be sung a cappella and shows off the best strengths of their voice (i.e. high notes, low notes, vocal agility, beauty of voice in a particular range or style). The solo can be an aria, song, folksong, or hymn.

AUDITIONS FOR THE OREGON REPERTORY SINGERS YOUTH CHOIRS

Auditions for our Youth Choir Music Education Program are by appointment. We are currently auditioning for the semester beginning January, 2012.

Children ages 5 to 18 are invited to participate in the ORS youth choir program. Our youth choir program is education and performance based. The choirs perform 2 formal concerts each year (December and May) as well as special performances in the community.

About our auditions: ORS Artistic Director, Kris Van Auken, conducts the auditions. They take approximately 10 minutes. Each young singer is asked to perform a song of their choosing, and will be asked to do some vocal exercises. K through 3rd grade students will be asked to sing either "Twinkle Twinkle Little Star" or "Happy Birthday." 4th through 12th graders will be asked to sing "America the Beautiful" or "Star Spangled Banner."

Our audition process is fun and informal giving you an opportunity to discuss the program with Kris.

Please email Kris directly to arrange an audition appointment or request information: KrisVanAuken@yahoo.com
